Who are the WWF?
WWF (World Wildlife Fund) are an organisation whose mission is to conserve nature and reduce the most pressing threats to the diversity of life on Earth. There work involves saving species and landscaping, and has evolved to addressing the larger global threats and forces that impact them. They recognise the problems facing the planet are increasing and becoming more complex and urgent and have refined the way they work around a new strategy. WWF states ‘Our new strategy puts people at the centre and organizes our work around six key areas: forests, marine, freshwater, wildlife, food and climate. By linking these six areas in an integrated approach, we can better leverage our unique assets and direct all our resources to protecting vulnerable places, species and communities worldwide.’
Summarise there history
WWF were founded on April 29th 1961. WWF started when other smaller environmental organisations, who were short of funds to really have a positive impact made a call for support. 16 of the world’s best conservations lead by Morges Manifesto came to the rescue and created what is now WWF, holding the glory of being the world’s largest and most successful conservation organisation for over 50 years.
The WWF address the larger global threats as they are the main danger to the environment and the animals. The WWF are not just about changing animal’s lives; to do they need to change human’s lives – their mindsets and train of thought towards the importance of the beautiful animals that are now a fading memory.
